Short answer: You can get a proper concentrated perfume oil in Pakistan for well under Rs 1,000. Our Under Rs 1,000 collection has 230 scents with a 25g bottle below that line, and our eight picks below run from Rs 595 to Rs 980. Pick by mood (fresh, sweet, oud or aquatic), test a 25g first, and wear two or three drops on pulse points.

Can a fragrance oil under Rs 1,000 really smell good?

Yes. Price in perfume is driven by the bottle, the brand name and the marketing as much as by what’s inside. An oil doesn’t pay for any of that. You’re buying the fragrance itself.

It also helps to know how strong a spray actually is. Wikipedia lists a parfum at 15–30% aromatic compounds, an eau de toilette at 5–15% and an eau de cologne at just 2–3%. The rest is mostly alcohol. A concentrated oil skips that dilution, which is why a few drops go a long way. We cover the full oil vs spray question in perfume oil vs perfume spray, so we won’t repeat it here.

Modern aroma chemicals are the other reason budget oils can smell rich. Take Ambroxan, the ambery, skin-like note in a lot of fresh scents. It’s synthesized from sclareol, a component of clary sage oil, and one newer production route was stated to need 100 times less farmland than the traditional method. Our amber vs ambergris guide explains where it fits.

Our picks

Sweet and easy to wear

  • Dunhill Desire Red, Rs 595. A Dunhill Desire Red style oil with apple, Damask rose and vanillin. Friendly, sweet and hard to dislike.
  • Dark Kiss, Rs 625. Inspired by the Bath & Body Works scent. Black raspberry, vanilla orchid and amber for cooler evenings.
  • Romance Holland, Rs 620. A Ralph Lauren Romance style oil. Soft and romantic, good for daily wear.

Fresh and clean

  • Pure Air, Rs 703. One of our own blends. Bergamot, lavender and musk. Quiet enough for work, so it also suits our office perfume oils list.
  • Megamare, Rs 925. An Orto Parisi Megamare style aquatic with bergamot, seaweed and Ambroxan. Strong, so start with one drop.

Classic and masculine

Oud on a budget

  • Oud Dark, Rs 800. An Arabic-style oud blend for winter and Jummah.
  • White Oud, Rs 980. Saffron, rose absolute and white oud. Smart for weddings and still under the line. Our oud perfume oils guide has the stronger options.

Tip: Divide the price by 25 to get the cost per gram. Romance Holland at Rs 620 works out to about Rs 25 a gram. Compare that with the price of a designer bottle and you’ll see why oils are such good value.

How do you choose a cheap oil that won’t disappoint?

Start with the mood, not the brand name

Decide if you want fresh, sweet, woody or oud. If you’re not sure, think about the scents you already enjoy in soaps, sweets or flowers.

Read the notes line

Every product shows its key notes. Bergamot and lavender mean fresh. Vanilla and amber mean warm and sweet. Oud and saffron mean rich and heavy. That line tells you more than the inspired-by name does.

Match the season

Light citrus and aquatics feel best in Lahore’s heat. Sweet and oud oils come alive from November to February. If you buy only one bottle, a clean musky scent like Pure Air works most of the year.

Buy 25g first

A 25g bottle is the cheapest way to test a scent on your own skin for a few weeks. If you love it, the bigger sizes cost less per gram.

How do you make a budget oil go further?

Use less than you think. Two or three drops on the wrists and neck is enough for most oils, and one drop for loud ones like Megamare. Apply after a shower on moisturised skin and keep the bottle out of the sun and away from the car dashboard. Our perfume longevity guide has the full list of tricks.

You can also mix two cheap oils to get something more personal. Pure Air under Dark Kiss, for example, gives a fresher sweet scent. See our layering guide for pairings that work.

Questions we get a lot

Are oils under Rs 1,000 weaker than expensive ones?

Not by default. They’re concentrated oils, not diluted sprays. Strength depends on the scent itself, so fresh oils feel lighter and oud or amber oils feel heavier at any price.

What is the cheapest oil in your picks?

Dunhill Desire Red at Rs 595 for 25g, as listed on the shop on 18 October 2026. Prices can change, so check the product page before ordering.

Can I use these oils in candles or diffusers?

Many fragrance oils can be used beyond skin, but follow the usage rates in our guide to fragrance oil and patch test before wearing any new oil.

Are these the original designer perfumes?

No. Names like Dunhill Desire Red or Megamare describe the style of scent each oil is inspired by. They are our own concentrated oils, not the brands’ products.
